1. Are Yale alarm
systems affected by CB radios, Taxis or any other wireless radio
equipment?
|

Not with 433Mhz Radio signals,
which Yale alarm systems operate on. We also back this promise up

2. Do pets affect Yale alarm systems?
|
|
If you have pets select one of our
pet friendly
alarms. All pets will set of the standard movement detectors. |

3. Can the PIRs/Sensors be fitted in external buildings e.g.
garage/shed? |

Yes, although door and window
contacts should be used to prevent false alarms from insects
etc. moving in the PIR zone. |

4. Can you have two entry zones for the back door and front
door?
|
|
Yes, you can have as many Entry/Exit
zones as you like. |

5. How far away from the control unit can I put a sensor ?
|
|
Sensors will generally work up
to 30m away from the control panel. There is a test function to
check if the sensor works at a certain distance from the control
unit.

6. How long do the batteries last? |
|
Up to 3 years. There is a low
battery warning on the system.
|
|
7. How many remote controls/keypads can I use? |
|
Each remote control or keypad will
take away one of the 20 available spaces for detectors on your
system. |

8. Are the detectors and siren unit protected against
unauthorized removal? |
|
PIRs, door contacts and the siren
are fitted with anti-tamper devices. If the unit is vandalized or
altered without authorization an audible alarm will be
triggered whether the system is armed or not . This feature may be
disabled to allow batteries to be replaced etc. |

9. How long does the siren ring for and can I reduce
the time?
|
|
You can adjust the siren to ring
for 3, 5 or 10 minutes.

10. I have a two-bedroom house, what do I need? |
|
The system allows you to install up
to 20 detectors. You can decide how many you wish to install to
protect your home.

11. Where should I put my detectors to get the best
protection? |
|
In the corner of the room,
approximately 2.3 meters from the floor.
|

12. Can I change the entry time?
|
|
Yes this the entry/exit times can
be changed to suit your circumstances.

13. Is my alarm system
compatible with others? |
|
All the alarms and accessories in the Yale HSA 6000
range are compatible with Yale 433 MHz HSA 6000 & HSA 3000
systems . |

14. Can my system
operate more than one siren? |
|
Yes more than one siren can be
used. |

15. Can the system be set so that activity in part of the
building does not set the alarm off? |
|
Yes. The new 6400 & 6300 series Yale
alarms can be zoned / part
set. The 6200 alarm can only be fully armed and un-armed.

16. Will my system re-arm
itself after an alarm? |
|
After the siren stops sounding, the
system will re-arm. |
|
17. What type of batteries
does the system require?
|
|
Standard alkaline batteries can be
used such as AA or AAA. |

18. Could someone else use
their remote control to operate my system? |
|
Only remote controls programmed
into your system can be used to operate it. |

19. If my neighbour has the
same system will it interfere with mine? |
|
There will be no interference as
long as the sirens or control units are not within 1 metre of each
other. |

20. Can a contact detector
be mounted upside-down?
|
|
Yes, also horizontally, as long as
the magnet is opposite the arrow.

22. UPVC doors and frames
aren't level, how can the detector and magnet be installed
side-by-side? |
|
Packaging may have to be set to
bring the detector and magnet together. The position is only
approximate and can be tested by putting the jumper to ON, this will
allow the L.E.D to indicate when the magnet is operating the
detector. |

23. There isn't enough
width on the frame to mount the detector, could it be mounted on the
door with the magnet on the frame? |
|
Yes the detector can be mounted on
the door. |
|
24. Can the door/window
contacts be fixed with adhesive rather than screws? |
|
Screw fixing is preferable but
adhesive pads are provided as an option. If adhesive pads are being
used it is important that the contact surfaces are thoroughly
cleaned to ensure a strong adhesion. |

25. I have pets can a Yale
wireless alarm still be installed? |
|
Choose a
pet friendly alarm kit for
pets up to 26KG in size. For lager animals 'Home Omit' any PIR
likely to be activated. |

26. What area does the PIR
cover?
|
|
The detection spread is 110 degrees, the range is 15 metres. |
|
27. Is it OK for a PIR to
face a window? |
|
It is best that a PIR shouldn't
look directly at a window but could be mounted at an angle to the
window i.e. across a corner. |
|
28. Will the PIR be
activated by a radiator heating up? |
|
It is OK for a PIR to be able to
see a radiator but should not be located above a radiator. |

29. What is the Zico comfort LED? |

A comfort LED is a constantly flashing
small led light that flashes to show your burglar alarm external
siren box is live and working. This is an excellent visual deterrent
